Photo Day is Tuesday, Sept 17!
Today in Humanities we looked at the issue of voting age in Canada's elections. Our chief elections officer has suggested that perhaps the voting age should be lowered to 16. Students viewed a panel of experts who had a range of perspectives to help inform their opinion, then they organized their ideas into a written response. This was an in-class piece of writing and students handed it in at the end of class.
We continue to discuss the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Currently, we are analyzing a case study involving curfew laws in Alberta that are targeted at youth. Students, please make sure you have completed the table on page 3
